Description
Please take care when ordering that you know what size and type of dome you require. If in doubt please ask our advice or alternatively the company that supplied your hearing aids.
There are three different types of domes available for GN ReSound hearing aids, RIE Domes, Thin Tube Domes and Surefit Domes, and the type of dome you need to order depends on the type of hearing aid wire or tube that sits in your ear canal.
For most newer receiver wires and all thin tubes you will see a thin ridged end like the image below marked ‘S’, or ‘HP2’. If your hearing aid has this type of tip and is not the latest Surefit wire please order a ‘Thin Tube Tip’.
If your hearing aid uses a Surefit wire or tube with the thin ridged end (only LiNX² use these at present, launched January 2015) please order a ‘Surefit Tip’. Surefit wires have a metal receiver (the part that the dome sits on) as opposed to a plastic one. Surefit domes have a ‘smoky’ appearance as opposed to a clear appearance, .
For some of the older receiver wires you will see a rounder or a square smooth and non-ridged tip like the images below marked ‘NP’ or ‘HP’. If your hearing aid has this type of tip please order a ‘RIE Wire Tip’
NB. HP power domes (the double mushroom type with a square shank as opposed to a round shank) for high power receivers need a special tool to remove and re-apply the domes. If you need this type of dome please ask us for the special ReSound Power Dome Removal Tool if you don’t have one. is a video showing how to change the HF3 wax guard on a power dome and is some useful information on how to change a power dome with the special tool. This tool costs an additional £9.95 which we can charge separately.
If you have limited dexterity we advise you don’t attempt to change power domes with the removal tool yourself but ask someone for help.
All dome variants are supplied as a pack of 8 domes.
Open domes are available as – Large 10mm, Medium 7mm and Small 5mm – £14.95
Tulip domes are available in a Standard size – £19.95
Power domes are available as – Large 10mm, Medium 7mm and Small 5mm – £23.95
If you order the wrong size / type of dome but can return unopened and in a re-saleable condition we are happy to replace with the correct item, however we cannot accept opened packets that we cannot re-sell.
It’s a good idea if you are unsure of the product to order to look at the picture of the product to the left and measure and compare the diameter of one of your existing domes at their base.
