The Covid-19 pandemic has really disrupted businesses and services and hearing healthcare was not immune. While the pandemic is continuing, life still needs to go on in some sort of way, healthcare needs in particular need to be looked after. We recently read about a hearing practice in South Carolina that is pulling out all the stops to deliver a safe service to new and existing customers, whether that be in their clinics or in the customer's home. We were impressed enough to write this article, this is what they are doing.
Serving South Carolina For Hearing Care
Digital Hearing Outlet provides high-quality hearing care and the very latest hearing aids in three locations in South Carolina. They have hearing practices in Lexington, Spartanburg and Chapin, South Carolina. They also provide in-home services across South Carolina and this is where they have really pulled out all the stops. Before I explain and even show you a video (who doesn't love a show and tell right?), I want to give you the background to who they are.
The co owners are Michael and Jennifer Arndt and after practicing for many years in Nashville, Tennessee, they relocated to Columbia SC to be near their grandchildren. Jennifer is a national board Hearing Instrument Specialist and Michael has been featured many times in the State newspaper and recently on NPR Radio for his expertise with hearing aids and hearing care. He also served as National Hearing Industry Consultant for SonicCloud, a revolutionary app for smartphones recently featured on the DR. OZ TV program.
They decided when they relocated that they were too young to vegetate and it was probably a good idea to provide the very best hearing care combined with the latest and most modern hearing aids to consumers across South Carolina. Their business has thrived since opening, but like many businesses Covid-19 stepped in and caused havoc for then and their existing customers.
How They Stepped Up Services
Mike and Jennifer took all the facts into account in relation to Covid-19 and planned meticilously how they could deliver service in a safe manner. In particular, they thought about how they could deliver their service to the many people who couldn't come to them. Up to the pandemic, Mike had been delivering home services using a purpose built set up. Both he and Jennifer set to work on designing a protocol that would allow him to continue to offer that service.
They did just that, and continue to deliver services to both existing and new customers in a completely safe manner. One of the things that struck us, and intrigued us, was the use of clear shield face masks. One of the real problems with face masks is that they make it quite difficult for people with hearing loss to understand what is being said. Having said that, they are one of the things that can keep up us all safe. Mike discovered clear shield facemasks which mean they keep us safe but also allow people to lip read. That was a big part of the steps they would take among others. Anyway, they have been hugely successful with it, you can see a video below which will give you an idea
As I said, we were really impressed, so if you are looking for hearing care or hearing aids in South Carolina, well then Digital Hearing Outlet might just be the right answer for you. They have our vote of confidence.
